WHAT IS CHIROPRACTIC?
Chiropractic helps to remove stress on the muscles, joints and nervous system to allow the brain to communicate clearly with the rest of the body, and vice versa. This is done primarily through an adjustment in which the chiropractor uses their hand or an instrument to put a gentle and specific force at a joint to improve its motion and normalize the surrounding muscles. The result? Decreased pain and increased mobility. In the spine this is very important. If the vertebra are not moving correctly, this can irritate the nerves that exit the spinal cord, leading to decreased function of the organs or tissues that run on those nerves. This can, for example, weaken the digestive or immune system. Unfortunately, pain isn't always a good indicator of a problem. Just as in cases of heart attack or cancer, most people don't even know that there is a problem until the situation has progressed significantly. It's important to get checked to make sure that your spine is functioning at its best.
We don't chase symptoms here! It's time for a new and more effective approach to health. While pain relief is one of the benefits seeing a chiropractor, we're not in the business of masking pain with drugs that may cover up the body's messages that show something is wrong. Rather, we look for the cause of pain or dysfunction and address it from the source. We know that the body was born with the ability to heal itself, that is, if we treat it the right way and allow it to do what it was designed to do.
